bob redells that latest this morning's raid. bob? >> reporter: good morning. you can see behind me we still have officers with the pd and deputies still in riot gear. maintaining a perimeter around 888 street. this is the building protesters took over late yesterday afternoon. right now it has been a very slow process. the process has been going on for an hour and a half now where law enforcement has been taking out one by one the protesters in plastic hand ties. putting them into the police wagons and presumably taking them downtown to be booked. this started, as i mentioned, around 5:00 this morning. when officers arrived on the scene and rushed into the building and released 12, 20 of them that went inside. we spoke to protesters inside and they said they were caught by surprise because they didn't think they were going to be coming until 10:00 this morning. they thought they had until at least daylight to be in there before they were evicted. that clearly was not the case. police were inside for at least a half hour. they brought out barricades dragged in

how's it looking out there, bob? >> well, jon, the best case scenario is have the southbound 280 connector and northbound 85 open by 8:00. light right now, they're estimating another two hours to have this open. unfortunately, that is going to be into the morning commute. the cement has not actually spilled yet. what you've got is you've got a tractor that was hauling two trailers full of dry cement that overturned here. you can see in the foreground to the left. the towing company got that righted, now they've got to get the other one beyond that and the tractor itself right side up. the good news so far, there was concern when they were righting these that one of the trailers might split open and pour wet cement all over the roadway. that did not happen. they're hoping it will not happen with the second trailer. clearly that would add time to the cleanup effort. you can see the driver, he's okay. he's been out here all morning long. he's obviously not happy with the situation here. he told us that he was leaving cu

bob, good morning. >> good morning to you marla and jon. here at evergreen valley high school here in south san jose where the san jose fire department is still on scene. the fires are out, but they are treating these as suspicious. one, these happened overnight, two, they happened in two different locations about 50 feet from each other. you've got this one fire that's in the dumpster, that's scorched pretty badly and back and to the right there was a fire set up against the building where the library is located. not clear what burned there, a pile of something. the first fire clearly was isolated by itself, but the second fire is the fire that is drawing concern because it could have easily set the building on fire if it weren't for a smoke alarm. the smoke alarm went off. the alarm company notified the fire department. this is around 2:30, 2:40 this morning, that's how they knew to come out here. the damage to the outside of the

bob redell is live at the scene of that shooting. bob, i know it's early out there but you had a chance to sit down with the family members, correct? >> reporter: yeah, good morning to you, jon. at first angelina thought it was the sound of fireworks that was ringing out around 1:00 this morning outside her home here on macon road in oakland, but she realized that wasn't the case once she heard her 11-year-old brother, luis antonio start screaming. that sound, as i mentioned, was gunfire randomly aimed at their house. you can see some of the bullet holes right there in the front. another one of those bullets passed through a photograph of luis antonio. as you can see it was just inside their house. and another one of those bullets hit him in the chest. he's at oakland children's right now. his family just spoke with his mother who's with him. that bullet did hit him in the lungs, but he is talking and his family is under the impression that he is going to be okay. he was hit as he slept in a room located in the very back of the house
